Pumpkin Letter Challenge
Do your students struggle differentiating between letters and numbers? Have you assessed a student to determine how many letters they knew only to find that they could not yet discriminate the difference between letters and numbers? Did their responses sound something like this, “A, C, 2, 5, S, …”. You are not alone, this is actually very common among young learners.
This activity is perfect for students beginning to identify letters of the alphabet. It comes with five pumpkins with a mixture of uppercase letters and numbers. Uppercase letters are used exclusively in this activity since those are the letters most often confused with numbers.

I hope this activity provides the added practice your early learners need to start to distinguish the difference between letters and numbers.
